CERTIFICATION EXTENSIONS
Certification can be extended for a maximum of 90 days total. There are separate procedures for Certified IPC Trainers (Instructors) and Certified IPC Application Specialists (operator/worker proficiency), as noted below.

CERTIFIED IPC TRAINERS (CIT) (only) need to submit a request for certification extension by e-mail to: certification@ipc.org. You must include:
1. The Program, e.g. IPC-A-610C or IPC-7711/7721 2. Your complete name, address, phone and email information 3. When and where you were certified as an IPC Instructor 4. The date of expiration that is on your Instructor certificate 5. The serial number of the certificate You should keep a copy of IPC's response that grants the extension.

CERTIFIED IPC APPLICATION SPECIALISTS (CIS) (Previously identified as operators, worker proficiency, inspectors, etc.) These extensions, up to 90 days maximum, are granted by the Certified IPC Trainer that originally granted the certification. You will need to contact that instructor directly.
Note: Validity of CIS extensions is ultimately determined by the employer. Some companies have documented quality programs that do not permit application level extensions.
