We can deliver any of our classes onsite at your facility with minimum leadtime. Our staff of several instructors allows us the flexibility to respond to an ever changing schedule and can usually setup and deliver a class with as little as a weeks notice, depending on the content and location of the training. We prefer advanced notice of 3 weeks or more to allow us time to get materials and schedules setup.

Our website is designed to deliver as much detail information as you need to make an informed decision about your solder training partner; however we invite you to talk direct with any one on our staff to get a better feeling for our organization. The prices we post are our standard prices but we do have a discount program and your organization may qualify. We beleive in the saying "It never hurts to ask"

Circuit Technology Training currently has 4 instructors on staff that teach regular classes. In our menu at the top of the page there is a instructor BIO button that will give you access to all the instructor BIO's. Please feel free to contact our office if you have specific concerns or questions regarding our instructors.

We offer all of our solder training course as an onsite class. This means we can bring the training to your facility. For most classes you will want to have at least 8 students to make the pricing economical. We can teach the class with as few as one student but the pricing will usually be based on 8 to 10 students.

IPC does not suggest a recommended order for the JSTD, 610 and 7711/7721 certifications. What we have found that works best for students is to take the IPC 610 certification first covering all the workmanship standards. Next the JSTD-001 certification covering the process control and soldering requirements. Lastly the IPC 7711/7721 tieing all the JSTD and 610 information together in a rework and repair certifciation. Rework and Repair being solder and de solder of all the different SMT and PTH components. Any of these certifications can be taught separately.

Any of the IPC training certifcations can be taught in any language that an instructor is fluent in. Circuit Technology Solder Training has one instructor that is fluent in English and Spanish, so we can offer any of our classes in Spanish. Many of the standards are translated to numerous different languages; however, the actual training materials are not translated. This means in order to train in a language other than english the instructor must translate the training materials. We have done this for all the certifcations that we offer.

When a class is taught onsite at your facility, Circuit Technology Solder Training will bring everything that is needed for the training, including precision temperature control soldering stations, zoom stereo microscope inspection equipment, high quality hand tools (pliers, cutters, tweezers, etc) as well as all the supplies, solder, epoxies, components and circuit boards. We provide this configuration for every student in the class, we do not have sharing of tools and equipment. You are responsible for providing tables, chairs, electrical power and a white board for presentations.

We prefer to use our equipment; however, if you have the ability to supply the the required equipment we can work with that as well. We can send you a IPC recommended lsit of equipment required for the class being taught. We will discount the price if we do not supply the equipment.

All training done at our Raleigh Corporate Solder Training Center is done from 8 to 5 each day of the training. When you are making airline registration you will be flying into the Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU). We do have a couple of recommended hotels in our area and that information is avialable at this link. Raleigh Hotels

Circuit Technology has a vast array of solder training kits and supplies and we can direct you to distributors that supply any item we use in the training that we do not sell. We have a website that outlines the kits at http://www.soldertrainingkit.com and you can download our PDF brochure of all the equipment and supplies we use in the training programs PDF Training Equipment Brochure.

Our solder training program does provide for the re-certification of any of the IPC classes we teach. At this link we have a detailed explaination with pricing of the options for re-certification. Re-certification Information page

The hours that most of our classes are held is 8 am to 5 pm; however in the case of custom classes or onsite classes we attempt to accomodate your normal working hours for the students attending. This inlcudes following break and lunch schedule as the students would normally follow, if needed.

When you attend a Circuit Technology training class you will not need to bring anything with you other than your desire to learn. We provide student workbooks for all classes and there is plenty of room in them for notes. Now with the addition of our policy to give all CIS students a copy of the standard to keep you can even take notes in your copy of the standard.

IPC uses the CIS and CIT abbreviation for the two levels of classes. CIS is Certified IPC Specilist and CIT is Certified IPC Trainer.

Circuit Technology Inc is an IPC certified Training center for the JSTD-001, 610 and 7711/7721 courses. We also have a Certified IPC 620 Instructor on staff which allows us to teach the IPC 620 CIS certification.

We not only teach these IPC classes but we have some classes we have designed such as our 3 day SMT class and our 2 day Lead Free class. We also teach any of the Pace PCT series classes if requested. Most custom classes are done on site at the customer's site and we can customize a class to your specific needs or requirements.

All of our solder training classes come with a certificate suitable for framing. The IPC classes give the students a certificate of completion from IPC which is serialized and tracked at IPC. For CIT certification you will get a nice certificate stating your completion in the specified practices. All IPC CIS classes include a copy of the standard for the student and ALL CIT classes include instructor materials from IPC unless you opt not to pay for those items.

To receive your personal quotation for any of our training a simple email or phone call to our office is all that is required. We will need to know how many students, where we will be training, which course will be taught and approximately when you would like to have the training performed.

We will accept most forms of payment, cash, check or major credit card, including discover.

Each of the IPC certifications are for a specific area of the circuit board manufacturing and repair processes. The one that will bring you the most value depends on a number of factors. The first consideration is do you have any contracts or customers that mandate a specific certification. From there you need to evaluate your goals and the skills and understanding of your team of operators to determine what needs improvement. Circuit Technology can assist you with the determination by helping you understand how to evaluate and decide the best class for your situation. We have a webpage with descriptions of each of the classes that will help some. If you need onsite help any of our instructors can evaualte your needs by visiting your site.

All IPC course have written test and many have workmanship demonstration activities as well. For most of the customized classes, the evaluation is done by the student demonstratiing workmanship skills.

Currently there are no prerequisites for any of the IPC classess; however when we are discussing instructor level classes we highly recommend the candidates have a good working knowledge of the circuit board manufacturing process as a minimum. The instructor classes are very fast paced and do not allow much time for teaching of skills, mostly just refining skills and understanding the spec more deeply. For the CIS classes most students with little expereience can still be successful.

Most of the IPC classes are a week long so multiple classes in one session is usaully not an option. There is quite a bit of overlap between the jstd, 610 and 7711/7721 courses but each class has a specific format mandated by IPC that must be followed. With the understanding that challenge testing is an option in all courses some combination of classes can be done, but would have to be considered on a case by case situation.

When it is possible we can accommodate a specific instructor for your training sessions, however when doing this you limit the flexibility of when the class can be scheduled. Each of our instructors are fully capable to teach the classes with no problem. A few of them do have niches that mandate them be choosen for a specific job, such as our bilingual instructor.
